Kiara Duran
Kiara is a singer-songwriter, storyteller, instructor, and energy healing practitioner. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Minor in Theatre from the University of Miami and has a private studio in New York City where she offers voice, piano, guitar, and songwriting lessons and Esoteric Healing sessions. Kiara is bilingual in English and Spanish and created, produced, and starred in Minestrone Con Arepas, a one-woman cabaret show about her Italian-American and Latino heritage. She is one of the creators of the musical theatre creation program Make-A-Musical and has written music and lyrics for 10 original mini-musicals with contributions from children. Kiara has also worked as a Teaching Artist with Wingspan Arts and served as Artist-In-Residence for St. John’s University, New York City Children’s Theater, and Vital Theatre Company.
Kiara has a YouTube channel featuring Esoteric Healing, original songs, wisdom she is gathering on her path, and singing with her dog, Tucker. Her favorite songwriting awards include the Abe Olman Scholarship Award for Excellence in Songwriting from The National Academy of Popular Music Songwriters Hall of Fame and an AriZoni Theatre Award of Excellence for Original Musical Composition. Kiara’s self-titled EP of original songs is available for purchase on iTunes and for listening on Spotify. She has performed in various venues in NYC including The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Bitter End, and Avery Fisher Hall and loves leading sing-a-longs at the center for rehabilitation and nursing in her neighborhood.
